Looking for the queen

Tomorrow we need to find the queen bee in hive two. A quick check yesterday evening revealed only a couple more eggs laid since last weekend's inspection and my son has a 'feeling' that the small patch of eggs present last weekend could well be drone eggs, once capped we will know for sure. Although as the queen is laying so poorly she will still need to be replaced.

We are almost certain she is still alive in the hive as no attempt has been made to build queen cells from the eggs or larvae in the frame we transferred across from the prime hive. Bees are now beginning to emerge from this frame helping to boost the number of bees in the hive.

Once we have found the queen, she will be killed and a newly mated queen will be introduced to the hive.

All we have to do is find her !
