Temptation

Next week end I'm hoping to pick up my breeding quartet of Indian (Cornish) Game. I am however faced with decisions...I'm hopeless at decisions!! Rather than all Indian Game I could have any combination of Indian Game, Welsh Black or Improved Indian Game.... what do I do ? I like them all.

I think I will certainly have an Indian Game Cockerel and at least 2 Indian Game pullets. That way I can keep the breed pure if I want to or I can cross the IG Cockerel with other heavy breed hens for table birds.
.. maybe I should have IG cockerel, 2 IG pullets and 1 Welsh Black, as they are such lovely birds. Uuummm I don't know !!

I also have the option of buying hatching eggs....so tempted.... Exchequer Leghorns, beautiful birds, fantastic layers of lovely white eggs. They would make a super addition to my laying flock but I must be realistic, I don't have sufficient space.

Also cockerels !!! I have a young unproven Partridge Welsummer cockerel. I had planned to use him this year with my three Welsummer hens but the possibilty of buying a Gold Duckwing cockerel is almost too good to be true.

I need to be realistic, firstly and most importantly of the amount of land I have and then what I need them for and how best they can be used.
