Yesterday evening my husband said " have you heard the tree? "
It was buzzing, really buzzing just as if you were standing in front of one of the hives. At first we thought maybe we had a swarm but the sound was being created entirely by the hundreds of flying insects feeding from the flowers, mostly bumble bees.
It is still buzzing this morning and it is quite a strange sensation to stand beneath it and be engulfed by the sound.

We have the same with our lime tree and to a lesser extent with the cotoneaster bushes - wonderful
